As y’all may have figured out, one of the things Andy and I do together (besides drink coffee and surf craigslist for cars we’ll never buy) is to enter cooking contests. So far it’s been two chili contests and now a bake off. We tied for 2nd place… and, not to be bitter about it, but we lost to something that was yummo, but not a cookie. Next time, we’ll know better than to follow the description of the contest, at least at my apartment complex.
So, here’s our entry…
We started with a secret family recipie of Andy’s… which is a good basic cookie. In Andy’s first EFG move, we substituted egg nog for butter milk.

As seems to be the case, everything seems to be better with coffee… including the frosting — Andy’s EFG move #2… and move #2.5 was to use egg nog to make the frosting.
I forgot to take a photo until the end of the contest… this plate held our entry… and they seemed to go over well… if you look closely, you’ll see Andy’s EFG move #3… drizzled chocolate over the coffee frosting.
