Our unions here are generally only fighting for us to have rights similar to those in other “civilized” countries.
What goes hand in hand with Scott Walker’s motivation is the idea that major corporations are no longer happy to profit, they have to gouge.
Remember on 9/11/2001 when the Mills Fleet Farm raised gas prices to over $10.00 a gallon shortly after the bombings? It was seen as Un American and generally chicken shit. But this is exactly what corporations do to us every day.
A friend of mine has a sister who works for Walgreen’s and she smuggled out a price sheet that had “cost” on it. The price for almost every medication was pennies. The average prescription has gone up 20 times in just five years.
As long as we continue to believe that success for corporations will trickle down to the average person, the average person will continue to have no chance what so ever of living what our parents called the American Dream.
